Martin Ballendat
German designer Martin Ballendat has been active for over 35 years. He studied design at Folkwang University, Essen. After graduating he worked as a designer for the furniture maker, Sedus, and in 1986 he managed the design department of the Austrian company, Wiesner Hager, with which he stayed for ten years.
In 1995 he founded his own studio in Upper Austria and another one later in Germany. Design Ballendat studios collaborate with more than forty well-known brands from seventeen countries. Martin Ballendat has won over 150 various awards. They include the 40× Red Dot Award, iF Design Award and Mixology-Award 2019.
He has also been a lecturer and visiting professor of design at applied science universities in Graz and Salzburg.
He designed the ARCUS task chairs and LOTUS conference chairs and bar stools for us.
