Republic Education Campus
2025 — London — United Kingdom

Republic is a next-generation education campus in East London, dedicated to creative talent and innovation. It is home to universities, learning institutions and creative businesses, alongside cafés, restaurants, a gym and 600,000 sq ft of affordable space within a lively mixed-use environment. An unused reception area at Republic London in Canary Wharf has now been transformed into a welcoming breakout space, designed for conversation, collaboration and moments of downtime between classes and meetings.
The project was delivered by Footprint Commercial Interiors, whose thoughtful approach transformed the reception into a space that people can enjoy. The team needed seating that could help organise the generous volume of the space and encourage people to stop, sit and spend time there. Working with Footprint Commercial Interiors, we developed a bespoke configuration of Nido to suit both the scale and the demands of daily campus life.
The final layout uses two- and three-seater bench modules combined with integrated wooden tables and additional cushions. The modular system allows the seating to stretch across the space, supporting different uses throughout the day, from relaxation to informal meet-ups.
Colour and fabric choices were selected to work alongside the bold artwork already present in the interior, creating a strong visual identity without overwhelming the space. The finished space offers a flexible and inviting place to get together, talk and recharge, reflecting Republic’s role as a campus built around learning, creativity and community.
