State Printing Works of Securities

2025 — Prague — Czech Republic

The former photographic studio of the State Printing Works of Securities in Prague has been refashioned into a new meeting room, combining the historical context with a modern approach to design, technologies and sustainability. The JKH Architects had a clear assignment: create a space that will be prestigious and functional as well as firmly rooted in the institution’s identity.

The dominating feature of the room is an oval table for eighteen people. Its central part consists of an oak panel and the rest is matt black, fingerprint-resistant laminate.  The shape of the massive steel base is similar to that of a printer roller, thus elegantly resembling original production processes.  The atmosphere of the room is completed by a textile acoustic wall with a print inspired by the façade of the historical building, stamps and signatures.

The table is complemented by our Melody Meeting conference chairs, whose elegant shape, comfort and high-quality upholstery meet the high design and functionality standards of prestigious spaces of this kind.
