Terra Lounge: A new chapter in soft seating
02. 02. 2026
Terra Lounge marks a new step in our approach to soft seating. Designed by Orlandini Design studio, the series is built on three guiding principles: comfort, design and sustainability.
Terra Lounge reflects how soft seating should look, feel and function, while also expressing a responsible approach to materials and production. The collection includes armchairs in two design-compatible heights, a matching footrest and multiple base options.
Perfectly tuned comfort
Comfort was the starting point for Terra Lounge and remains central to its design. The seat uses a unique construction made of two polyurethane shells with two different foam densities that are perfectly tuned to how the body sits. This structure allows the central seating area to feel soft and accommodating, while firmer zones around the edges provide stability and support.
As the body settles, the chair responds naturally to changes in posture. Generous padding, flowing curves and balanced proportions work together to create a seating experience that feels incredibly comfortable. Selected high-back versions are also available with a discreet integrated rocking mechanism, adding gentle movement that enhances long-term comfort.

A one-of-a-kind approach to form
Every detail of Terra Lounge has been thought through, from its proportions to its construction and ergonomic layout. The seat and backrest flow together as one continuous shape, framed by side panels that also function as armrests. This design creates an elegant, well-defined silhouette.
“With Terra, we wanted to redesign how a lounge chair is shaped and experienced. Rather than following the familiar horizontal split between seat and backrest, the design is organised as a single, continuous form. The seating area is framed by two sculpted side panels that also serve as armrests, giving the chair a strong, recognisable shape while supporting the body in a balanced and comfortable way,” says designer Folco Orlandini.

With the option to upholster the seating area and outer shell in different materials, Terra Lounge opens up a wide range of visual possibilities. Pairing fabric with leather, for example, brings out the shape of the chair and creates a rich visual contrast that can elevate the feel of a space.
Designed with sustainability in mind
Sustainability is built directly into the Terra Lounge’s structure. Both the rigid shells and the soft foam form are made entirely from polyurethane without metal inserts. This makes the chair easy to disassemble and recycle at the end of its life.
Advances in polyurethane recycling now allow material from ground components to be reused when producing both rigid and foam polyurethane. This supports a circular material cycle and makes polyurethane a strong choice for furniture designed to last.

Polyurethane parts of the armchairs, including the rigid PU shell, and four-leg steel bases are manufactured at our premises in Boskovice. The four-star cross bases and rocking mechanisms are produced within the EU. Keeping production local and within Europe helps maintain consistent quality, short supply chains and responsible manufacturing standards.
Looking ahead
Terra Lounge is built around comfort, sustainable use of materials and a design approach developed with the future in mind. From its finely tuned seating structure to its fully recyclable polyurethane construction, every decision supports long-term use and responsible production. It is a series designed to be lived with, to last and to move soft seating forward in a more thoughtful direction.

Nowadays, modern interior design practically cannot do without digital tools. Architects as well as designers work with 3D models, which help them to think about space in context, verify details and prevent mistakes as early as at the design stage. I...
