We’ve been recognised with FEMB LEVEL 3 sustainability certification

LD Seating has reached a proud milestone in its long-term commitment to sustainability. After an extensive and independent assessment, TÜV Rheinland has awarded the company the LEVEL 3 certificate, the highest possible rating within the FEMB European certification system.

This recognition reflects years of effort, responsibility and care. It confirms that sustainability at LD Seating is not just a principle. It is a way of working that shapes every part of the company, from the materials it selects and the energy it uses to the culture it builds and the social responsibility it upholds. The entire Arcus, Lyra Air and Leaf series, including task and conference models, are now fully certified at LEVEL 3.

What the LEVEL certification means

FEMB, the European Office Furniture Federation, created the first European sustainability certificate LEVEL for office furniture in 2018, inspired by the U.S. BIFMA LEVEL certification. It defines what true sustainability in furniture manufacturing looks like across Europe, setting a clear and measurable standard.

While the better-known Blue Angel certification focuses mainly on environmental impact, FEMB LEVEL goes further. It examines how materials are sourced, how products are made, how energy is managed and how companies care for the people and communities around them. It is recognised as the most complete and forward-thinking certification system for sustainable furniture production in Europe.

A comprehensive approach to sustainability

The certification process is carried out by independent institutes accredited under the ISO 17065 sustainability standard, which guarantees transparency at every step. To earn certification, a company must meet demanding criteria in four key areas: materials, energy, human and ecosystem health, and social impact. Each is assessed in detail, from responsible sourcing and renewable energy use to the creation of safe workplaces and fair supplier relationships. LEVEL 3 is the highest recognition. It is reserved for companies that go beyond meeting expectations and make sustainability a genuine part of their identity.

Verified by TÜV Rheinland

The assessment was conducted by TÜV Rheinland, an independent international organisation known for its expertise and rigorous evaluations. After a detailed review of LD Seating’s products, manufacturing facilities in Boskovice and company-wide sustainability practices, TÜV Rheinland confirmed full compliance at the highest European standard.

The certification covers the Arcus, Lyra Air and Leaf seating series, each designed and produced locally with the same focus on durability, responsibility and craftsmanship that defines LD Seating’s work.
